Soccer Recap: Pacific Ridge Finds Playoff Glory Versus Poway

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pacific Ridge walked away with it. They beat the Poway Titans by a goal, winning 1-0. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Firebirds' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Titans are ranked 63rd).

Pacific Ridge's one-goal win came courtesy of Evie Spengler, who's now up to seven this season.

The win made it two in a row for Pacific Ridge and bumps their season record up to 9-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two games. As for Poway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.

Coming up, Pacific Ridge will face off against Rancho Buena Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Poway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
