Softball Recap: Bloomingdale Has No Trouble Against Plant

Bloomingdale owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Plant Panthers as the Bloomingdale Bulls made off with a 7-0 victory. The Bulls have beaten the Panthers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.

Natalie Cable made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Marley Boucher and Paige Sanchez did most of the damage at the plate: Boucher went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Sanchez went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Boucher has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Lindsay Cable was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Bloomingdale's record is now 6-4. As for Plant, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomingdale will welcome Plant City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Plant City's pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so Bloomingdale's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Plant, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Plant Panthers duke it out with Durant Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Durant is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
