Golden's contest on Monday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wheat Ridge Farmers a 3-0 shutout. Considering Golden have won five matchups by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Bertel Emil Bruun Ellegaard and Dylan Ziegenfuss scored all three of Golden's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Golden has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six contests. As for Wheat Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3-3.
