Basketball Recap: Bishop McCort Crushers vs. Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers
The Bishop McCort Crushers put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 67-63 W over Westmont Hilltop. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Gianna Gallucci, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Zucco, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Bishop McCort's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0. As for Westmont Hilltop, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop McCort will take on the Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westmont Hilltop, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Huskies at 7:15 p.m. Bishop Carroll knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully the Hilltoppers like a good challenge.
