Soccer Game Preview: Southeast Whitfield County vs. Cherokee

The Southeast Whitfield County Raiders will take on the Cherokee Warriors at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Southeast Whitfield County has four straight wins, Cherokee has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Southeast Whitfield County barely beat Cedartown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over the Bulldogs last Friday. Southeast Whitfield County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by three goals or more this season.

Jonathan 'Jona' Hernandez and Joseph Pina scored all six of Southeast Whitfield County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 23 goals.

Meanwhile, Cherokee fell victim to Marietta and their airtight defense last Friday. They lost 5-0 to the Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, Cherokee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 256th, while Marietta are ranked 30th).

Southeast Whitfield County's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Cherokee, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
