Soccer Recap: Butte Valley's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Two

In Saturday's Canine Competition, Butte Valley prevailed. Their defense stepped up to hand the Trinity Wolves a 4-0 shutout on Saturday. Mario Gonzalez was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

The victory made it two in a row for Butte Valley and bumps their season record up to 4-13. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Etna and 6-16 Trinity. As for Trinity, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Butte Valley will take on rival Etna at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Trinity is set to challenge their familiar foe Fall River at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
