Soccer Game Preview: St. Genevieve vs. Paraclete

The St. Genevieve Valiants will face off against the Paraclete Spirits at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, St. Genevieve sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over La Salle. Given the Valiants' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Lancers are ranked 387th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Paraclete kept a clean sheet against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 5-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Spirits, who have now won eight matchups by four goals or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for St. Genevieve and bumps their season record up to 11-6-1. As for Paraclete, they have also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3-2 record this season.
