The Parkway Central Colts will venture away from home to face off against the Eureka Wildcats at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Parkway Central 3.2, Eureka 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Parkway Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Lafayette on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-5 to the Lancers. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marlee Williamson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Zoe Mitchell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Lewis, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Eureka came tearing into Tuesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Falcons 11-1. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Kayleigh Niles was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Maddie Rakey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Eureka was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Eureka's record now sits at 10-2. As for Parkway Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Parkway Central hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Eureka struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Parkway Central came up short against Eureka in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 7-3. Can the Colts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
