Soccer Recap: Buckingham Charter Takes a Loss

Buckingham Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sacramento Country Day Cavaliers. If Buckingham Charter were looking for revenge after losing 4-2 to Sacramento Country Day when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Buckingham Charter's goal came courtesy of Gianna Baligod, who's now up to five this season.

Buckingham Charter's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Sacramento Country Day, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Buckingham Charter will host John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sacramento Country Day, they will head out on the road to square off against Cristo Rey at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cristo Rey will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Sacramento Country Day surely won't give up without a fight.
