Basketball Recap: La Jolla Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

La Jolla won the last time they faced Bonita Vista, and Reagan Bennett did her part to make sure it happened again. The La Jolla Vikings put the hurt on the Bonita Vista Barons with a sharp 63-41 win on Saturday thanks in part to Bennett, who went 12 of 24 on her way to 34 points in addition to six boards and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of La Jolla's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Soila Chadwick, who posted seven points and 18 rebounds. She is becoming a predictor of La Jolla's success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is 6-1 (and 1-2 when she doesn't).

Several Barons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jadyn Arvizo, who had 15 points. Those 15 points gave Arvizo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaidyn Lee, who posted ten points.

La Jolla is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Bonita Vista, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

La Jolla didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-41 defeat against University City on the 18th. As for Bonita Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-30 loss against Scripps Ranch on the 21st.
