Basketball Recap: West Allegheny Comes Up Short

West Allegheny was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mars Fightin' Planets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-56 back in December of 2024.

Alexis Cashdollar had an outrageously good game for Mars as she dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Cashdollar a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cecilia Christy, who posted ten points.

West Allegheny's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Mars, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7.

West Allegheny will take on Bethel Park at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bethel Park is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season. As for Mars, they will face off against Montour at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
