Soccer Game Preview: North Polk vs. Nevada

North Polk and Nevada are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Comets will host the Cubs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Polk's last six contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

North Polk is headed into the game without a loss and will look to keep things rolling. They and Madrid finished up their matchup with a 0-0 draw on Monday. That draw made it four straight for North Polk.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nevada). They never let Prairie City-Monroe get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for Nevada in their matchups with Prairie City-Monroe: they've now won five in a row.

North Polk's draw gives them a new season record of 3-0-4. As for Nevada, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2-1.

North Polk beat Nevada by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 1-0. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Cubs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
