Football Recap: Hillsborough Terriers vs. Blake Yellow Jackets
After flying high against Brandon back in September, Hillsborough came back down to earth. The Hillsborough Terriers fell just short of the Blake Yellow Jackets by a score of 17-14 on Saturday. The Terriers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.
Although Hillsborough took the loss, they still got scores from Milton Harrell and Moses White.
Blake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quentin Deboue led the charge by rushing for 122 yards. Deboue's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Hillsborough now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Blake, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.
Hillsborough will welcome Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jesuit knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Hillsborough likes a good challenge. As for Blake, they will head out on the road to challenge Strawberry Crest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Blake is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
