Baseball Recap: Valencia Comes Up Short

Valencia blew St. Francis out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday St. Francis got their revenge. The Vikings fell just short of the Golden Knights by a score of 8-6.

Kyle Josing was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Dylan Lapa also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Valencia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for St. Francis, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.

Valencia and St. Francis could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Vikings (ranked 275th) will meet Chaminade (ranked 77th) at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Francis will face off against St. Joseph at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (166 vs. 25).
