Baseball Game Preview: Southeast Whitfield County Raiders vs. Allatoona Buccaneers

The Southeast Whitfield County Raiders are taking a road trip to face off against the Allatoona Buccaneers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast Whitfield County has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Allatoona will come in with four straight wins.

Southeast Whitfield County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Williams, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Williams has become a key player for Southeast Whitfield County: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-10 otherwise. Matthew Ledford also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Allatoona sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Cedartown on Friday.

Davis Bargeron spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up six Ks.

Allatoona's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Southeast Whitfield County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
