Baseball Game Preview: Hermon Hawks vs. Nokomis Warriors

The Hermon Hawks will square off against the Nokomis Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hermon 3.3, Nokomis 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Nokomis will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Hermon extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday. The Hawks never let Old Town get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Meanwhile, Nokomis unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Lawrence by a score of 2-1. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Nokomis' defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Hermon, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Everything went Hermon's way against Nokomis in their previous matchup back in June of 2025, as Hermon made off with a 14-4 victory. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
