Humboldt won the last time they faced West Franklin and things went their way on Friday too. The Cubs were the clear victors by a 40-20 margin over the Falcons. The Cubs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 20 points or more this season.

Gavin Gunderman had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 103 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 86 yards and a pair of TDs. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble, making eight total tackles, and defending two passes. Mason Sterling got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why West Franklin lost, don't look at Chandler Scott. Despite the final result, he rushed for 105 yards and one score, and also threw for 71 yards and one TD. Justin Ott also deserves some recognition as he punched in his first rushing touchdown of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Humboldt and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games. As for West Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Humboldt will head out to take on Central Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cubs will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.57 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for West Franklin, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bluestem at 7:00 p.m. The Falcons are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
