Soccer Game Preview: McNair vs. Franklin

The McNair Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Franklin Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. McNair's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 12 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, McNair turned things around against Weston Ranch on Tuesday. They and the Cougars finished up their match with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Franklin hadn't done well against Stagg recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Franklin's defense stepped up to hand Stagg a 5-0 shutout. Considering the Yellowjackets have won seven contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Stagg with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Janelli Villagran (3), Jennifer Montero, and Loriauna Thongdee.

The victory (which was Franklin's third in a row) raised their record to 12-3-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. With that draw, McNair's record moves to 2-10-3.

McNair might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Franklin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can McNair avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
