Baseball Game Preview: Arabia Mountain Rams vs. Lakeside Vikings

For the second straight game, Arabia Mountain will face off against Lakeside. The Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arabia Mountain hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Arabia Mountain came up short against Lakeside on Wednesday, falling 18-1.

For Lakeside's part, Noah Hathaway looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave Hathaway a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Grant Jackson was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Burst, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Lakeside hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arabia Mountain struck out nine times.

Lakeside has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Arabia Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Arabia Mountain has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lakeside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
