Basketball Recap: Friends Select Comes Up Short

Friends Select lost to Westtown back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Falcons had to suffer through an 89-36 loss at the hands of Westtown. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Westtown are ranked first).

When it comes to explaining why Friends Select lost, don't look at Milan Trusty. Despite the final result, she posted 36 points. That was a full 100% of the Falcons' points, marking the 16th time in a row Trusty has had more than a third of the team's points.

Friends Select's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Westtown, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Friends Select will take on rival Academy of the New Church at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Trusty and Jayda Mayo. Meanwhile, Westtown is set to face off against their familiar foe Barrack Hebrew Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
