Basketball Recap: Orthopaedic Takes a Loss

Orthopaedic lost against Annenberg last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Orthopaedic Vipers took a 31-12 bruising from the Annenberg Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Vipers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1215th, while the Panthers are ranked 486th).

Orthopaedic has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points over those games. As for Annenberg, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Orthopaedic and Annenberg's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Orthopaedic will face off against Central City Value at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a squad that's only allowed 22.88 points per game. Meanwhile, Annenberg and Aspire Ollin (who has only given up 24.59 points per game) will meet at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
