Canyon Crest Academy is 0-10 against Torrey Pines since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens duke it out with the Torrey Pines Falcons at 7:00 p.m.

Canyon Crest Academy is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against La Jolla, falling 43-23. The Ravens were down 37-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Torrey Pines took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 57-25 win over Central. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Torrey Pines' win came from a few key players Canyon Crest Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lily Oliva, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Mills, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Torrey Pines was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only racked up two assists.

Torrey Pines is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.3 points. As for Canyon Crest Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Canyon Crest Academy took a serious blow against Torrey Pines in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 66-22. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Canyon Crest Academy was down 40-11.
