Basketball Game Preview: Mission Bay Buccaneers vs. Clairemont Chieftains

Mission Bay and Clairemont are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Mission Bay Buccaneers will face off against the Clairemont Chieftains at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses apiece.

Mission Bay fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Kearny on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Komets.

Meanwhile, Clairemont played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Canyon Hills and fell 48-6. The matchup marked the Chieftains' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Clairemont's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Mission Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Everything came up roses for Mission Bay against Clairemont when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 59-17 win. In that game, Mission Bay amassed a halftime lead of 33-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
