Football Recap: Logan Takes Down Magdalena in a Playoff Battle

Logan had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Magdalena Steers 40-12. Considering the Longhorns have won eight games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Aydin Kotara threw for 290 yards and five TDs. Mason Wallin was his top target, picking up 143 receiving yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, Stratton Schoonover rushed for 100 yards on only 11 carries.

The victory (which was Logan's eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.8 points on average over those games. As for Magdalena, they moved to 8-2 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Coming up, Logan will take on Grady at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bronchos' defense has only allowed 10.7 points per game this season, so the Longhorns' offense will have their work cut out for them. Magdalena does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
