Basketball Recap: Chatsworth Comes Up Short

Chatsworth and Kennedy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Chatsworth had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 77-29 loss at the hands of the Golden Cougars. The Chancellors just can't catch a break and have now endured 11 losses in a row.

Kennedy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abbigail Gomez, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. Gomez has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Melanie Mendez was another key player, going 9-for-20 on her way to 19 points and five steals.

Chatsworth's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Kennedy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-8.

As of now, neither Chatsworth nor the Golden Cougars have any future games scheduled.
