Basketball Recap: Renaissance Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It's playoff time, and Renaissance Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Belmont Charter Tigers on Friday as the Renaissance Academy Knights made off with a 55-30 win. The victory was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on three straight.

Renaissance Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dallis Stewart out in front who posted 16 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Stewart a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Jones, who earned 13 points along with six boards and three steals.

Stewart wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Renaissance Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Renaissance Academy's victory bumped their record up to 15-12. As for Belmont Charter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Renaissance Academy will square off against Mountain View on Tuesday. Belmont Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
