Soccer Game Preview: Riverdale vs. Caruthers

Riverdale hasn't had much luck against Caruthers recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Riverdale Cowboys will head out to challenge the Caruthers Blue Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Caruthers took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Riverdale, who comes in off a win.

Riverdale is headed into the match having not lost since December 14 and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Dos Palos a 4-0 shutout on Monday. The Cowboys' winning goal came courtesy of Aliezah Arambula.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Caruthers was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They lost 8-0 to Edison.

Riverdale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those seven matchups. As for Caruthers, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5-1.

Riverdale might still be hurting after the 6-2 defeat they got from Caruthers when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Riverdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
