Basketball Game Preview: Elizabeth Bulldogs vs. Maywood Academy Nighthawks

The Elizabeth Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Maywood Academy Nighthawks at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Elizabeth has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 20.

Last Friday, Elizabeth took a blow against Maywood CES, falling 64-16. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1249th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 573rd).

Meanwhile, Maywood Academy played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 53-25 defeat at the hands of Marquez. The Nighthawks haven't had much luck with the Gladiators recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Maywood Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Elizabeth, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Elizabeth came up short against Maywood Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 33-28. Can Elizabeth avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
