Softball Recap: Campbell Comes Up Short at Home Against Kell

Campbell unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Kell Longhorns by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Evelyn Herrington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Campbell saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AvaRiley Roberts, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Campbell will welcome Westminster at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kell, they will face off against Sprayberry at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
