After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sublette, Springfield was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 53-15 victory over the South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] Patriots. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-9.

Springfield found their leader in sophomore Coltin Woodhouse, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 14 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Rhett Bray, who posted four points and six rebounds.

The win got Springfield back to even at 1-1. As for South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett], they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Springfield will challenge Wiley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Longhorns their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett], they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Las Animas at 6:00 p.m. on the 16th.
