Football Game Preview: Paradise Valley Trojans vs. Goldwater Bulldogs + How To Watch

Paradise Valley will head out to face Goldwater after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. The Trojans were dealt a 59-13 loss at the hands of Sunnyslope. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-6.

Paradise Valley might have lost, but man, Alonzo Gonzales was a machine: he picked up 180 receiving yards and one touchdown. Gonzales is becoming a predictor of the Trojans' success: when he posts at least 100 receiving yards the team is 2-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Goldwater). They strolled past Ironwood with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 37-21. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 29-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

The critical scores for Goldwater came from Marvin Larry, Jorge Gastelum, Gabe Smith, Will Pai, and Jay'El Lozano.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Goldwater proved: they limited Ironwood to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. The Bulldogs didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.6.

Paradise Valley now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Goldwater, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Paradise Valley was taken down by Goldwater 49-21 in their previous meeting back in October of 2021. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
