Soccer Game Preview: Monroe vs. Arleta

The Monroe Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Arleta Mustangs at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Monroe is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight matches on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Verdugo Hills.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Arleta and North Hollywood have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Mustangs came up short against the Huskies, falling 5-0. Arleta haven't had much luck with North Hollywood recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Arleta's loss dropped their record down to 1-8-1. As for Monroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-2.

Monroe came out on top in a nail-biter against Arleta in their previous matchup back in December of 2025, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
