Soccer Game Preview: Stockdale vs. Liberty

Stockdale hasn't had much luck against Liberty recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Stockdale Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Liberty Patriots at 6:15 p.m.

Stockdale is headed into Thursday's following a draw, the team's first since December 3. Neither they nor Centennial could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Liberty had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.8 goals) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Rams a 2-0 shutout. The Patriots' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six contests.

Liberty's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those five matchups. Stockdale's draw gives them a new season record of 14-3-2.
