Baseball Recap: Arroyo Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Arroyo can now relate to. They lost 9-0 to the Pinole Valley Spartans on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Dons have suffered since April 3rd.

Arroyo has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-13-1 record this season. As for Pinole Valley, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-11.

Arroyo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pinole Valley, they will take on St. Bernard's at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Crusaders' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
