Softball Recap: North Andrew's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

It was a proper cat-fight when North Andrew took on DeKalb on Thursday. The Cardinals came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-3. The win was some much needed relief for the Cardinals as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Teigan Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in September of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Presleigh Ford was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (two). Bradynn Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

North Andrew's record is now 4-10. As for DeKalb, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. North Andrew will take on West Platte at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bluejays' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for DeKalb, they are taking a road trip to face off against Maryville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spoofhounds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.5 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
