Recap: Walnut Mustangs vs. Wilson Wildcats
The Walnut Mustangs won the last time they faced the Wilson Wildcats, and things went their way on Thursday too. Walnut enjoyed a cozy 58-40 victory over Wilson. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Walnut.
Walnut's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kameryn Perea-saupan led the charge by scoring 19 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Perea-saupan scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maileeh Suasti, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds.
Walnut is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Wilson, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.
Walnut will head out on the road to square off against Diamond Bar at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Diamond Bar's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. As for Wilson, they will be playing at home against Los Altos at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
