Soccer Game Preview: Central East vs. Clovis West

Central East is 2-8 against Clovis West since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bengals will be playing at home against the Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Central East took a five-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Clovis, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bengals never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for Central East as it spelled an end to their five-match losing streak.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Clovis West was not quite Clovis North's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 1-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Central East's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 12-8-1. As for Clovis West, they now have a losing record of 4-5-3.
