Basketball Recap: Highlands Scots vs. Rio Vista Rams
Highlands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were beaten by the Rio Vista Rams 59-17. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-12 back in January.
Keniyah Banks produced another solid performance dropping a double-double with 22 points and 17 boards for Rio Vista. What's more, Banks posted five steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Makyla Mandujano, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points and six steals.
Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Rio Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highlands will welcome Vacaville Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so the Scots' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Rio Vista, they will square off against Woodland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
