Basketball Game Preview: California Lutheran C-Hawks vs. United Christian Academy Eagles

California Lutheran is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against California School for the Deaf-Riverside on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. California Lutheran took a blow against California School for the Deaf-Riverside, falling 56-11. The C-Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-5.

Meanwhile, United Christian Academy entered their tilt with Los Altos on Saturday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They snuck past the Conquerors with a 42-36 win.

United Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Jordin Edwards, who went 8 for 13 en route to 16 points and three steals. Edwards is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gigi Marquez, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

United Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

United Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for California Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-10.

California Lutheran took a serious blow against United Christian Academy in their previous meeting on January 9th, falling 80-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 15 steals.
