Recap: Aptos Mariners vs. North Monterey County Condors
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Christopher, the Aptos Mariners were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They skirted past North Monterey County 39-36. The team ran away with 28 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.
Aptos found their leader in underclassman Gabby Wickham, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals. The match was Wickham's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laurel Southall, who scored 10 points.
Aptos' victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for North Monterey County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Aptos' road trip will continue as they head out to face North Salinas at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. North Monterey County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carmel at 3:30 p.m. on December 30th.
