Basketball Recap: Alec Lundy and Levi Hermsen Secure Win for Heritage Christian

Heritage Christian lost to Estes Park back in January of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Heritage Christian Eagles walked away with a 55-44 victory over the Estes Park Bobcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Leading Heritage Christian to victory were Levi Hermsen and Alec Lundy. Hermsen went 8-for-18 on his way to 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Lundy posted 17 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Hermsen's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Nemetz, who scored six points and eight boards.

Hayden Powell and Phineas Smith certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Powell dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Smith dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. Smith is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last 18 games he's played. Isaac Hill was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Heritage Christian's record is now 13-5. As for Estes Park, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Heritage Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 42-29 win against Belleview Christian on the 20th. As for Estes Park, they have also already played their next matchup, a 73-43 defeat against Bishop Machebeuf on the 21st.
