Basketball Recap: Ocean View Christian Takes a Loss

Ocean View Christian lost against Liberty Charter back in November of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ocean View Christian Patriots fell just short of the Liberty Charter Lions by a score of 25-23. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 8-2 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Ocean View Christian still got an impressive performance from Montse Acosta, who posted 12 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. That was a full 52.2% of Ocean View Christian's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Ocean View Christian now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Liberty Charter, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-12.

Ocean View Christian and Liberty Charter's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Ocean View Christian and Mountain Empire (who has only given up 22.5 points per game) will meet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Ocean View Christian's defense has only allowed 25.3 points per game this season, so Liberty Charter's offense will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, Liberty Charter will take on High Tech NC at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, a squad that's only allowed 28.25 points per game.
