Basketball Recap: Triton Takes a Loss

Triton played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the E.E. Smith Golden Bulls, falling 53-27. The Hawks have struggled against the Golden Bulls recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Triton still got an impressive performance from Nashara McNeil-Watlington, who went 6 of 15 en route to 17 points.

E.E. Smith was led to victory by Amy Boa and Alonnie Baldwin - Muldrow. Boa went 5 for 7 on her way to 16 points, while Baldwin - Muldrow posted 14 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Boa a new career-high in points. Jada Tims also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Triton's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-11. As for E.E. Smith, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Triton will face off against Terry Sanford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. E.E. Smith has already played their next game (against Overhills), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
