Basketball Recap: Triad Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Triad was feeling good fresh off their 56-32 takedown of Charleston on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell 48-42 to the Mt. Vernon Rams on Wednesday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March.

Mt. Vernon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cale Maurer led the charge by shooting 55% from the field to rack up 17 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Lucas Shelby, Jr., who went 6-for-13 on his way to 20 points.

Triad's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Triad wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-56 victory against Collinsville on the 29th. As for Mt. Vernon, they have also already played their next game, a 48-41 win against Mascoutah on the 29th.
