Softball Recap: LaFayette Takes a Loss

LaFayette fell victim to Sonoraville and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Phoenix by a score of 1-0. The Ramblers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Phoenix apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Marlie Day was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

LaFayette now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Sonoraville, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, LaFayette will square off against Ringgold at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sonoraville, they will face off against Winder-Barrow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
