Basketball Recap: Rancho Bernardo Piles Up the Points Against Poway

Rancho Bernardo lost to Poway back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Rancho Bernardo Broncos really took it to the Poway Titans for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-23 win. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Lindsay Biddle was her usual excellent self, putting up 26 points. Keira Tokushige was another key player, posting 12 points.

Poway's loss came despite strong showings from Mya McGowan and Emily Farr. McGowan posted eight points and nine rebounds, while Farr put up three points and nine boards. That was a full 34.8% of Poway's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Louison Lartiguet also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Rancho Bernardo is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Poway, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho Bernardo will venture away from home to square off against Westview at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Rancho Bernardo will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Poway, they will head out to take on Del Norte at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Poway is facing Del Norte at the right time seeing as Del Norte is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
