Baseball Recap: St. Agnes Aggies vs. New Life Academy Eagles

St. Agnes had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 4-12 to make it five. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Life Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-7 loss back in April.

As for New Life Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games.

For New Life Academy's part, Nolan Wold spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits. Wold has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gavin McCulloch was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Joey Willaert, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

As of now, neither St. Agnes nor New Life Academy have any future games scheduled.
