Soccer Recap: Echols County Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Echols County can now relate to. They came up short against the Claxton Tigers on Thursday, falling 7-2. The match was a close 2-1 at the break, but unfortunately for Echols County it sure didn't stay that way.

Fidencio Vazquez and Juan Carlos Bravo scored both of Echols County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 27 goals.

Echols County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Claxton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8.

Echols County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Claxton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dooly County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Claxton's defense better be ready for this one: Dooly County have averaged an impressive 4.6 goals per game this season.
