Softball Recap: Medomak Valley Takes Down York in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Medomak Valley rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the York Wildcats a 5-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Not much got past Sidney Nichols, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep York off the board. Nichols has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Grace Havener, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Peyton Eaton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Medomak Valley's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for York, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

As of now, neither Medomak Valley nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
