Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Oakmont's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

After losing to Center the last time they met, Oakmont decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Oakmont Vikings enjoyed a cozy 54-40 victory over the Center Cougars on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

When it comes to explaining why Center lost, don't look at Reniaya Applin. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Applin is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last six games she's played. Kailee Coggins was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight boards and three steals.

Oakmont is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Center, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

When Oakmont and Center next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Oakmont will challenge Bear River and their three-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Center will try to stop Colfax's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
